Who we are
ABIE was established in 2022 by the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Advanced Education and SAIT, and operates as a trusted liaison between Alberta’s publicly funded post-secondary institutions and international education networks. We are uniquely positioned to promote Alberta’s robust post-secondary education sector, forge partnerships, and help to facilitate student and faculty exchange, mobility, and transnational education programs.
What we do
Our work is grounded in four strategic priorities:
- Awareness – Strengthening Alberta’s profile in global education circles of influence through outreach, events, and communication.
- Attraction – Supporting Alberta’s 26 publicly funded post-secondary institutions to build meaningful connections and attract talent from diverse and priority international markets
- Partnership – Facilitating relationships between Alberta’s institutions and global counterparts.
- Consultation – Serving as a strategic resource to governments and member institutions.
